Effect of application of phosphate fertilizer on absorption of nutrient for maize and broad bean intercropping system

The dynamic changes of NPK absorption by maize and broad bean in maize and broad bean intercropping system were tested by using different application amount of phosphate fertilizer. The results show that the phosphorus uptake of the above-ground parts of the intercropping maize and broad bean had increased with different application amount of phosphate fertilizer and the differences of phosphorus uptake between different single cropping increased to certain extent with application of phosphate fertilizer. But whatever the intercropping or single cropping the absorption of phosphorus had not increased with the increase of application amount of phosphate fertilizer. It is concluded that different application amount of phosphate fertilizer has no effect on NPK absorption of single cropping and intercropping maize and broad bean. The high-efficient symbiosis system of maize/ broad bean and rhizobium has a strong adaptation capacity and has an obvious advantages in resources utilization under a relatively low fertility level.
