“Generation agroecology”: a multi-stakeholder approaches to the development of agro-ecology in West Africa

As a follow-up activity of the Regional Meeting on Agroecology in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2015, a  national multistakeholder platform (SREC/PFONGUE*) will organize a meeting on agroecology .

This meeting “Generation agroecology” will focus on young farmers with 60 young farmers/future farmers from Mali, Niger and Senegal and participants with diverse backgrounds and disciplines (scientists, NGOs, farmers' organizations, extension services, FAO, donors, etc.) to continue the agroecology dialogue initiated in 2015.

The agenda of the meeting is:

Day one: Generation agroecology: Around 60 young women and men aiming at settle on agroecology farms : multi-stakeholder exchanges involving students and learners in agroecology, researchers, NGOs, agro-ecology in rural societies ...

Day two: Multi-stakeholder and knowledge sharing networks: The multi-stakeholder participatory approaches in Senegal and West Africa: articulation around key issues between researchers and other development actors, with a specific focus on knowledge sharing, training and the implementation of the recommendations formulated in the first multistakeholder meeting

Day three: Follow-up and public policies: Commitments and challenges for successful agro-ecological transition

* SREC is a Regional Multidisciplinary platform dedicated to Rural Societies, the Environment and West Africa in Climate and includes a hundred French and West African research institutions and universities. PFONGUE is a Platform of European NGOs in Senegal.
