The System of Crop Intensification
Agroecological innovations for improving agricultural production, food security, and resilience to climate change
The agroecological innovations reported here can be grouped under the broad heading of System of Crop Intensi cation (SCI).1 This approach seeks not just to get more output from a given amount of inputs, a long-standing and universal goal, but aims to achieve higher output with less use of or less expenditure on land, labor, capital, and water – all by making modifications in crop management practices.
