The excessive investments in agriculture continue to support inequitable food systems that generate an increasingly demanding food supply and drive further environmental degradation resulting in a growing climate change trend. Sustainable food systems and movements, destined to benefit from massive public and private investments, require adequate investments consistent with agroecological principles. This session explored the patterns and approaches of philanthropies and bilateral/multilateral development agencies pursuing investments in agroecology, along with the challenges and opportunities.
