Agroecology as good agricultural practices for resilience in Central American Dry Corridor

The Central American Dry Corridor is one of the Central American areas most affected by climate extreme events, particularly drought. In order to strengthen the sustainability, inclusion, and resilience of the production systems of the countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA for its acronym in Spanish), an inventory of good practices and technologies for climate-adapted sustainable agriculture is being made.  This inventory is part of a project implemented by FAO and the Innovation and Technology for Development Centre (itdUPM) with the support of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID for its acronym in Spanish). This video shows how the application of agroecological management strengthens soil health and household resilience. Moreover, agroecology practices are an opportunity for the local communities to diversify their production in a fair way and to improve the living conditions in the Dry Corridor’s territories.
