Agroecology Knowledge Hub

Database

Agroecology plays an important role in contributing to the eradication of hunger and extreme poverty, and as a means to facilitate the transition to more productive, sustainable and inclusive food systems. Creating a greater awareness of agroecology and its advantages is an important step to help policy-makers, farmers and researchers to apply this approach to achieve a world without hunger.

The database provides a starting point to organize the existing knowledge on agroecology, collecting articles, videos, case studies, books and other important material in one place. The objective is to support policy-makers, farmers, researchers and other relevant stakeholders through knowledge exchange and knowledge transfer. The database is a ‘living process’ that is constantly being updated.

To determine the genetic diversity and physiological races of the rice blast fungus from Hani terrace of Yuanyang county (Yunnan province), simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were used to estimate the genetic diversity of isolates of Magnaporthe grisea. Sixty-two isolates were studied for physiological races by using the standard differential...

Chilling stress, one of the most important limiting environmental factors, delays plants growth and development and reduces crops yield. Chilling stress causes cell membrane damage, which triggers an excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as superoxide (O2-), hydroxyl radicals (•OH) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). ROS are cytotoxic compounds...

To determine the effects of temperature change on photosynthesis and growth development of wheat, seedlings were subjected to UV-B radiation under different temperature. Photosynthesis parameters (photosynthesis and net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, carboxylation efficiency, etc.) and biomass were determined. The results indicated that photosynthesis parameters and biomass increased with temperature until...

In order to determine the effects of magnetic fields on the structure of root, stem and leaf under Cd stress in Mung bean (Vigna radiata), changes in the leaf conductivity, root length, shoot length, fresh weight, chlorophyll concentration and structure of root, stem and leaf were analyzed. The results indicated...
