The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (Faculty of Bioscience Engineering) of the KU Leuven University and the Graduate School on Environmental Sciences, Technologies and Management (ENVITAM). The 27 participants were from 12 different countries: Algeria, Belgium, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Greece, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Tanzania and Uganda.
