What to Expect?
The i-Connect Regional Dialogues are designed to foster the spirit of innovation vital to sustainable agricultural development and global food security. The 1st i-Connect Regional Dialogue in August 2023 will spotlight diverse strategies, challenges, and success stories in the implementation of innovation from various FAO country offices.

The regional event will delve into the significant topic of innovation development processes. Get the chance to participate in a dynamic knowledge exchange, a space for you to share ideas and experiences with peers from FAO country offices across the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, selected speakers from different country offices will share their unique experiences, shedding light on the process of translating innovative ideas into real-world applications that benefit sustainable agriculture.

Objectives

  • To facilitate the sharing of experiences and insights among FAO offices, enabling participants to learn from each other's innovative approaches, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • To showcase diverse approaches from different countries, allowing participants to gain insights into innovative practices that can be adapted to their own contexts and projects.
  • To open opportunities for FAO offices to connect, share resources, and foster partnerships for future innovation initiatives, promoting joint projects and enhancing the collective impact of their work.

Speakers

Vincent Martin, the Director of the Office of Innovation at FAO, will be opening the 1st i-Connect Regional Dialogue: Innovation Development Processes.

The event will feature speakers from various FAO country offices who will discuss their experiences in integrating innovation into their project development approaches. These speakers will include Mahendra Yadav, the National Consultant Agricultural Engineer of FAO Nepal; Dashnyam Battur, the Knowledge Management Specialist and Ms. Bayasgalan Battulga, Communications Specialist  of FAO Mongolia; and Holden Hao, the MIS Specialist of FAO Philippines. They will actively participate in the dialogue, engaging their peers and fellow participants across the Asia-Pacific region.
