ASEAN Workshop for Development of ASEAN Guideline on Disaster Responsive Social Protection

Following the successful conduct of the Pre-Conference Event on Risk-Informed Social Protection held at the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) in Mongolia in July 2018, it is our pleasure to invite you or your representative to participate in, and contribute to, the “Regional Workshop on ASEAN Guidelines for Disaster Responsive Social Protection” organized by the Asian Development Bank in collaboration with the Food and the Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.    

The main objective of the regional consultation workshop is to:

1. consult and gather inputs for the ASEAN Guidelines on Disaster-Responsive Social Protection;
2. share results of studies and discuss emerging options for risk-informed and shock-responsive social protection in ASEAN Member States; and
3. provide a platform for continued dialogue among ASEAN Member States, particularly between senior officials in charge of Disaster Management (ACDM), Social Welfare and Development (SOMSWD), Health Department (SOMHD) and to deepen the understanding and share practices in linking social protection and disaster risk management.
