Roundtable on Investing in Social Protection for Inclusive and Transformational COVID-19 Recovery and Launch of the ASEAN Guidelines for Disaster Responsive Social Protection

The COVID-19 pandemic and its unprecenented socio-economic impacts, compounded with other disasters such as floods and drought that hit AMSs, further reaffirm the important role of social protection in responding to this pandemic, and at the same time contributre to enhancing the resilience of the ASEAN people to achieve the ASEAN Community Vision 2020. The ASEAN Member States (AMS) have put in place a numberf of social protection measures to support vulneralbe peoeple through the protection of food and income security and preventing them from falling back to perverty.
