World Food Day 2019: Children’s poster contest in Chattogram

10/11/2019

As part of World Food Day 2019, FAO Bangladesh held a children’s poster contest in Chattogram.

The event was an opportunity for children to use their imagination to create artworks that illustrate this year’s theme of healthy diets for a zero hunger world.

The chief guest was Mr. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, MP, Minister of Land. Special guests Mr. Md. Nasiruzzaman, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, and Dr. Md Abdul Muyeed, Director General, Department of Agricultural Extension, joined the event.

The competition was held at the Agrabad Government Colony High School, and judged by professors from the institute of fine arts, University of Chittagong, and a cultural team from the Shilpo Kola Academy.

Congratulations to this year’s nine winners from the different categories. Their posters have been submitted to the global competition, with entries from more than 150 countries. Last year, Bangladesh scooped two prizes – third in the 5-8 year category and first in the 13-15 category – so we have high hopes that Bangladesh will achieve success again.
