As part of an effort to improve the supply of microbial risk-free street foods for the urban population, Mr Mike Robson, FAO Representation in Bangladesh and Mr Sayeed Khokon, Hon’ble Mayor, Dhaka (South) City Corporation jointly handed over 100 food carts to chosen vendors during a ceremony attended by over 500 participants – held at Nagar Bhaban, DSCC Headquarters on 13 June 2015.

The carts – funded under the Netherlands-funded Food Safety Programme – represent a tangible result of the partnership between the municipal authorities, the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research (ICDDR-B) and FAO.
