Following the invitation from Economic Relations Division (ERD), Ministry of Finance, Ms Kundhavi Kadiresan, Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for the Asia and Pacific Region of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) arrived in Bangladesh from Thailand at 12:30 PM, today - in order to participating in the Bangladesh Development Forum (BDF) 2015, to be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Dhaka on 15-16 November 2015.

Mr Mike Robson, FAO Representative in Bangladesh, Mr Nur A Khondaker, Asst. FAO Representative (programme), Mr Ekramul Haque, Asst. FAO Representative (Admin), Ms Sultana Afroze, and Joint Secretary, ERD were present at Shahjalal International Airport, Bangladesh to recieve the ADG & Regional Representative for FAO-RAP.

Ms Kundhavi Kadiresan is already on her way to visit Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Gazipur, and Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh on 13 November 2015 - followed by a short-visit in Haluaghat upazila, Mymensingh in overseeing FAO's on-going project activities on 14 November 2015.

During the period of 13-17 November 2015, she is to meet Hon'ble Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Food, Environment & Forest, and Fisheries & Livestock. She has also been schedule to see Heads of several government line departments and research organization as well as academic institutions over her first and remarkable visit to Bangladesh.
