Bioprospecting - Trends and international policies
The United Nations University`s Institute of Advanced Studies, in Tokyo, Japan, has published a report entitled "The international regime for bioprospecting: Existing policies and emerging issues for Antarctica", by D. Lohan and S. Johnston. Reviewing bioprospecting activities in Antarctica, the 25-page report gives an overview of these trends elsewhere (discussing the role of the biotechnology industry), as well as international policies governing bioprospecting activities.
