CGIAR guiding principles on inadvertent presence of transgenes in ex situ collections
At a meeting in Patancheru, India, on 28 February - 2 March 2005, the Genetic Resources Policy Committee (GRPC) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) agreed a final text of "Guiding principles for the development of Future Harvest Centers policies to address the possibility of unintentional presence of transgenes in ex-situ collections". Draft guidelines were drawn up in 2004 and circulated to a wide range of stakeholders for comments. The GRPC now recommends that the text be adopted by the CGIAR research centres. See
