10/06/2022

FAO Brussels Director Raschad Al-Khafaji welcomed the President of the OACPS Business Forum Mmantlha Sankoloba and the Forum’s Vice-President, Mr Aminou Akadiri to a meeting at the FAO Liaison Office premises.

The Business Forum leadership was visiting Brussels to attend the 114th session of the OACPS Council of Ministers.

During the meeting, talks centered on joint efforts to create greater visibility for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the ACP regions. Many of these enterprises have roots in rural activities and form the backbone of a large share of OACPS economies.

Director Al-Khafaji briefed the OACPS delegation on FAO’s new Strategy for Private Sector Engagement, of which cooperation with MSMEs forms a key component. Currently, FAO and OACPS are discussing a new partnership agreement, in which support to MSMEs is expected to play an instrumental role.
