Land Resource Information Management in Cambodia
To ensure sustainable, transparent, accountable and effective uses of the country’s natural resources, there is a need to update the current soil information and establish a common and liable information system to allow effective land resource assessment and management. But progress with this has been retarded due to the lack of comprehensive land resources assessment/evaluation for the country.
FAO has been supporting the Government to conduct on a preliminary assessment of the institutional and legal framework governing soil management and quality in Cambodia and preparing a preparatory TCP proposal, based on which a comprehensive investment proposal to support the establishment of the Cambodian Soil Information System in the country will be formulated.
