Lima (Peru), Hybrid Event, 22/05/2024

The Convention on Biological Diversity is the international instrument for the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits derived from the use of genetic resources, which has been ratified by 196 countries.

Within the framework of the celebration of Biological Diversity Day and the International Year of Camelids, Peru's National Forest and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) together with Ministry of Environment (MINAM) will organize the Symposium: “Genetic Resources and Management of Biological Diversity in Andean Camelids”, which will take place in May. The aim is to highlight the importance of in situ conservation in the centers of origin and diversification of genetic resources, as well as to share current knowledge regarding camelids.
