16/06/2021

Register now and meet the people behind fisheries and aquaculture value chains in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and the Marshall Islands

Did you know that Cameroon owes its name to the abundance of “camarões”, or prawns, found by Portuguese explorers in the Wouri river? That Majuro, capital of the Marshall Islands, is the world busiest tuna transshipment port? Or, that the culture of Nile tilapia, produced in Côte d’Ivoire, can be traced back to ancient Egypt?

Welcome to FISH4ACP’s third virtual tour. Join the online conversation on fisheries and aquaculture value chain development on 23 June 2021.

This tour will take you from the mouth of the “River of Prawns” to the heart of the Pacific Ocean and to the ponds of Côte d’Ivoire’s interior. Meet the people behind the value chains we are supporting, discover how they make a living from aquaculture and fishing and learn about the challenges they face to improve their livelihoods while ensuring that no harm is done to the environment.

FISH4ACP’s virtual tours engage a growing audience in an online conversation on fisheries and aquaculture value chain development. Whether you are new to FISH4ACP or willing to know more about fisheries and aquaculture value chains in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, please join the conversation.
