The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) opened its 44th plenary Monday 9 October 2017, chaired by the CFS Chair H.E. Amira Gornass.
Opening statements were delivered by José Graziano da Silva, Director-General, FAO; Ambassador Amira Gornass, CFS Chair; Gilbert F. Houngbo, President, International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); David Beasley, Executive Director, World Food Programme (WFP) and Patrick Caron, Chairperson of the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE).
