Between the 4th and the 6th of December the HLPE has organized a writing meeting of the Project Team working on the study Agroecological approaches and other innovations for sustainable agriculture and food systems that enhance food security and nutrition to be presented to CFS in 2019. The meeting was hosted by the University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
During this meeting a public session entitled «Improving food security and nutrition through agroecological approaches and other innovations» was organized with around 50 professors and students from the Faculty of Biology of the National University of Tashkent and Tashkent State University of Agriculture with the view to discuss agroecology as a transition pathway towards more sustainable food systems for enhanced FSN, considering the huge diversity of situations existing around the world (e.g. in Europe, Zimbabwe, Pakistan and Brazil).” It was good opportunity for local people to know more about HLPE activities and Committee on World Food Security.
