Vincent Martin meets with Ren Zhengxiao to enhance cooperation on global food security

Ren Zhengxiao, Director of China’s State Administration of Grain, met with Vincent Martin, FAO’s representative in China and DPR Korea in Beijing.

In the meeting, Ren expressed his appreciation for FAO’s work in safeguarding global food security, especially in helping other developing countries with hunger and poverty alleviation. Ren also extended his gratitude for FAO’s support to China’s grain industry.

Ren hoped that through FAO’s coordination, China could share its experience on grain storage system, grain producing techniques and expertise in reducing grain losses with other developing countries, in an effort to improve global food security.

Vincent Martin expressed his appreciation for China’s contribution to ensuring global food security, as well as SAG’s role in this endeavor, including efforts in raising awareness of food waste on the occasion of the World Food Day.

Both sides showed strong willingness to enhance partnership to promote food security both in China and globally.
