Objective(s) of the engagement

The partnership will strengthen impact of public-private collaboration in support of all three pillars of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental – with an important emphasis on both mitigating climate change and adapting and strengthening the resilience of agrifood systems and natural resources against the impacts of climate change. The partners will promote responsible investment and sustainable strategies for agrifood system transformation in light of national goals, needs and priorities, and facilitate private sector engagement through strategic partnerships in national programmes supported by the Hand-in-Hand (HIH) Initiative.

Progress to date

FAO and ICC are continuing discussions on the role and integration of the local private sector to answering national agrifood system investment priorities supported by the Hand-in-Hand Initiative.

In 2022, ICC Rome secretariat and members from national networks attended First Hand-in-Hand Investment forum and bilateral meetings were organized in Ecuador, Bangladesh and Haiti.
