Bilateral meeting with Minister for Agriculture and Livestock of the Kingdom of Bhutan, The Honourable Yeshey Penjor

Rome - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu and The Honourable Yeshey Penjor, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock of the Kingdom of Bhutan, met on the sidelines of the World Food Forum (WFF) 2023.

The Director-General encouraged the Minister to make good use of the World Food Forum platform to attract potential investors for national plans.

The Minister expressed appreciation for the opportunity provided by the Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum for presenting the Country’s Investment Plan, which focuses on citrus fruit, rainbow trout, quinoa, black pepper and asparagus – for a value of USD 73 million.

The pair further discussed key areas of collaboration and looked forward to continuing to strengthen the work to support the country to transform its agrifood systems.
