Bilateral meeting with the Minister for Agriculture of Bangladesh, The Honourable Muhammad Abdur Razzaque

Rome – FAO Director-General QU Dongyu and the Honourable Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, Minister for Agriculture of Bangladesh, met on the sidelines of the World Food Forum (WFF) 2023.

The Director-General saluted the Prime Minister’s leadership and congratulated the achievements that Bangladesh has made in the past years to address the COVID-19 situation in the country, with an emphasis on food security issues.

The Director-General also assured the Minister of FAO’s continued support to Bangladesh for the transformation of its agrifood system to be more efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable.

The Minister expressed appreciation for FAO’s work in the country, and in particular for the opportunity provided by the Hand-in-Hand Investment Forum for presenting the Country’s Investment Plan.
