Director-General and CEO of Elanco Animal Health discuss stronger collaboration

8 November 2019, Rome - FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu met today with Jeff Simmons, President and Chief Executive Officer of Elanco Animal Health, to explore ways to collaborate further on issues of common interest.

The CEO of Elanco Animal Health commended the Director-General’s vision and positive actions since the beginning of his term, 100 days ago.

The parties discussed major issues facing agriculture, specifically within animal husbandry, and agreed on the need for modified production models and adjusted consumption patterns to ensure the sustainability of the sector.

The FAO Director-General, for his part, presented the Organization’s new Hand-in-Hand initiative, which was welcomed by Simmons’s, as a great opportunity to work more closely together to support countries in the implementation of the initiative.
