Director-General and President of Renmin University of China highlight the importance of innovation

4 November 2019, Rome - FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu met today with Professor Liu Wei, President of Renmin University of China to explore ways to establish a mutually beneficial collaboration.

The parties discussed the need to strengthen cooperation on innovation, big data and statistics. Mr. Liu, for his part, presented the newly founded Institute of International Organization in Renmin University, emphasizing his willingness to have it work more closely with FAO.

The Director-General and the President agreed to promote their collaboration on talent development and shared views on cross-disciplinary cooperation.
