Director-General and Spanish Director General for Sustainable Development Policies outline crucial role of CFS

15 October 2019, Rome - FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu met today with Gabriel Ferrero, Director General for Sustainable Development Policies of Spain, to discuss ways to further strengthen collaboration towards implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The delegation expressed full support to the Director-General’s activities and his strong commitment to ensuring global access to adequate, affordable and healthy food. They also stressed the importance of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), hosted by FAO, which is holding its 46th session this week, as an inclusive international and intergovernmental platform.

The Director General acknowledged the longstanding collaboration with Spain and appreciated its continued support. Spain is an important supporter of FAO providing substantive assessed and voluntary contributions, scientific expertise and capacity.
