FAO Director-General meets UN agency heads on SDGs

14 November 2019, New York – FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu participated today in a meeting of the chiefs of United Nations bodies engaged with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting, held in New York, was productive as the principals of numerous UN agencies shared their valuable views on the ongoing reform of the UN development system and the architecture of the UN Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG).
The closed-door discussion also touched on how to bolster collaboration and coherence between actors and programmes aimed at the humanitarian and development nexus of intervention.
They also reviewed future events and their potential to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
