FAO Director-General praises Sierra Leone’s efforts to achieve Zero Hunger

27 August 2019, Yokohama – FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu in a meeting today with Sierra Leone’s Minister of Justice Priscilla Schwartz lauded the West African country’s efforts in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, especially on ending poverty and achieving Zero Hunger.

The meeting with Schwartz who also serves as her country’s Attorney-General took place on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).

For her part Schwartz noted that FAO’s work on food security and agricultural development “is at the heart of what we do,” and stressed the need for strengthened collective and consultative action to achieve the country’s development vision.
