FAO looks forward to new era of cooperation with Spain

12 December 2020, Madrid – FAO Director-General QU Dongyu today met Luis Planas, Spain’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in talks that focused on strengthening joint efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Qu said that FAO is looking forward to a new era of cooperation with Spain, including in the digitalization of agriculture, fisheries and work around the United Nations Decade of Family Farming.

The Director-General also noted that Spain can be a crucial partner in FAO’s new Hand-in-Hand initiative which aims to create "matchmaking" between donors and recipients to support tailor-made, targeted efforts to assist vulnerable people, as well as those affected by food crises.
