FAO thanks Norway for generous support

23 October 2019, Oslo – FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu today thanked Widar Skogan, the State Secretary of Norway’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food for the country’s generous support.

Meeting in Oslo, the two parties had productive talks during which Qu expressed appreciation for Norway’s support to FAO. The Director-General presented FAO’s new Hand-in-Hand initiative, stressing the need for focused support to landlocked, least developed and small island states. 

Qu was in Oslo to attend the international conference, Our Ocean 2019, which this week has brought together global leaders, scientific researchers and other experts committed to better protecting the world’s marine resources and promoting sustainable growth.
