Readout of the Director-General’s bilateral meeting with Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania, Frida Krifca

Rome - Today the FAO Director-General QU Dongyu met at FAO headquarters in Rome with Frida Krifca, Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania.

The Director-General thanked Minister Frida Krifca for acting as Vice-Chairperson of the Thirty-third Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) that took place in Łódź, Poland, in May 2022.

The pair recalled their meeting on the sidelines of the ERC, where they discussed strengthening further investment opportunities in the agriculture sector and Albania’s possible participation in the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative.

The Minister informed the Director-General that she was recently appointed as President of the Governing Board of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) during the 151st Governing Board meeting held at the Institut Océanographique of Paris (France) on 18 November 2022, and will take office on 1 April 2023.

The Director-General indicated that FAO is committed to continuing its cooperation to help Albania with their agrifood systems transformation and provide further support for promoting investments.
