Russian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Vershinin expresses support for Hand-in-Hand Initiative

10 October 2019, Moscow - FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu met today with Sergey Vershinin, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
They discussed the Organization’s action at global level, and had a fruitful exchange on joint ongoing projects, stressing the importance of coordinated and collaborative efforts within multilateral systems to achieve the SDGs.
The FAO Director-General presented the Organization’s new Hand-in-Hand Initiative, for which Vershinin expressed full interest and support. The initiative prioritizes targeted work that benefits people in the world’s most vulnerable regions.
