The World Bank’s Yang sees much convergence with FAO’s work

19 September 2019, Washington DC – Shaolin Yang, Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Administrative Officer, in talks today with FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu agreed that there exists much convergence between their two organizations.

Their discussion centred on strengthening cooperation between FAO and the World Bank and sharing their extensive knowledge base.

Yang expressed his interest in FAO’s new Hand-in-Hand Initiative which prioritizes targeted work that benefits people in the world’s most vulnerable regions including least developed and landlocked countries, as well as small island states.
