Meeting with The Honourable Paul Ronoh, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of the Republic of Kenya

Rabat - FAO Director-General QU Dongyu met today in Rabat with The Honourable Paul Ronoh, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of the Republic of Kenya, on the margins of the 33rd Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa (ARC33).

The Principal Secretary thanked the Director-General for the strong cooperation between FAO and Kenya, and stated the Kenya had benefitted from the long-standing cooperation with FAO through a number of key initiatives. He further requested FAO’s assistance in addressing the Fall Armyworm and Desert Locust problem, which posed a great challenge to Kenya.

The Director-General commended Kenya for the good progress made in agrifood system transformation and encouraged them to explore modern technologies, and science and technology to improve their agricultural trajectory.

Both agreed to continue to collaborate together as there was still much work that needed to be done in support of a number of sectors related to food and agriculture in the country.
