Description
Decided that the storage incentive programme for 2017 second-semester crops would be implemented from 11 August 2017 to 30 December 2017. The scheme will extend a COP 28 890 (USD 9.6) outlay to cover the cost of storing a tonne of paddy per month, for up to 400 000 tonnes, provided that these volumes are purchased at reference paddy prices of COP 106 250157 000 per 125 kg (USD 283-418 per tonne). Volumes purchased under the programme will determine potential rice import requirements for 2018 and their allocation among participants, as well as entities\' eligibility to participate in public procurement campaigns, special credit lines and export negotiations, should the need for these arise.
