Indias National Federation of Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives (NAFED) the agency responsible for the procurement of agricultural commodities under the countrys federal Price Support Scheme (PSS) is preparing the launch of an electronic platform for countrywide procurement of oilseeds and pulses. By managing farm-gate purchases, storage and disposal operations through an efficient, transparent and competitive e-platform, NAFED expects to help growers obtain more remunerative prices, while also containing consumer prices.
