Supported initiatives to establish overseas palm oil processing facilities that would source crude palm oil primarily from Indonesia, complementing past efforts to raise demand for locally produced palm oil.
Notes
Complementing efforts to raise domestic demand for palm oil (notably for biodiesel production), the Indonesian Government is supporting initiatives to establish palm oil processing facilities overseas. According to the media, joint ventures to set up refineries that would source crude palm oil primarily from Indonesia in Pakistan (for food-grade oil production) and in the United States and Europe (for aviation fuel production) have been promoted.
