Description
Determined that olive trees affected by the xylella fastidiosa disease must be felled, in compliance with EU regulations.
Notes
The Italian Government determined that olive trees affected by xylella fastidiosa must be felled in compliance with EU regulations. Farmers who fail to do so face prosecution. Since the pests outbreak in 2013, official quarantine requirements and containment measures met with strong opposition by growers and environmental activists (see also MPPU July16 & Jan./Mar.18).
