Description
Announced an aid package of AUD 100 million (USD 67.5 million) for farmers and communities affected by severe drought, of which AUD 33 million (USD 22.3 million) will go towards resuming the Drought Community Support Initiative, under which eligible households are subject to receiving a maximum of AUD 3 000 (USD 2 026). The assistance also includes AUD 1 million (USD 675 000) for 13 additional local government areas for water infrastructure upgrades and other projects. In addition, the Government will provide AUD 51.5 million (USD 34.8 million) to simplify and extend the Farm Household Allowance programme.
