Description
Activated a private storage aid mechanism for EU-produced olive oil, in a bid to reduce the blocs supplies and thus support prices. The programme would remain in place until end-February 2020.
Notes
EUROPEAN UNION market regulation (olive oil): In November, the European Commission activated a private storage aid mechanism for EU-produced olive oil, in a bid to bring down the blocs supplies and thus support prices (see also MPPU Nov.19). Private sector operators participating in the programme are required to store their product for at least 180 days.
