Description
Provided new tariff rate quotas exclusively for the United States under the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement (USMCA), which entered into force on 1 July 2020. The USMCA will create new market access opportunities for US exports to Canada for dairy, poultry and eggs, and in exchange, market access for Canadian exports of dairy and other products to the United States. In addition, Canada will eliminate milk price classes 6 and 7, and ensure that the price for skim milk solids used to produce non-fat dry milk, milk protein concentrates and infant formula is set no lower than a level based on the US price for non-fat dry milk. Canada has also committed to adopting measures designed to limit the impact of any surplus skim milk production on external markets.
