Notes
BRAZIL – pesticide regulation (dicamba): In July, the Government approved several dicamba-based herbicides used in the cultivation of genetically engineered soybean and maize. Recently, possible environmental risks arising from the chemical’s use came under scrutiny in the US (see MPPU July’20). Furthermore, in August, Brazil’s competent authorities proposed new MRLs (i.e. maximum residue limits tolerated in food or feed products) for flupyradifurnone, a pesticide used in soybean cultivation.
