Description
In line with past efforts to diversify Chinas feed ingredient imports, Chinese officials conducted talks with counterparts in Myanmar regarding import procedures and food safety requirements for soybeans.

CHINA import diversification (Myanmar): In line with previous efforts to diversify the countrys import sources for feed ingredients, in July, Chinas General Administration of Customs initiated talks with the Agriculture Ministry of Myanmar about import procedures and food safety requirements for selected commodities, including soybeans, the media reported. While soybean cultivation can be found in Myanmars Shan State, which borders China, limited access to quality seed, advanced pest management techniques and modern marketing tools are said to hamper the crops expansion.
