Description
Issued a positive safety assessment for a newly developed GM herbicide-tolerant rapeseed. The varietys release remains contingent upon approval by the European Commission and Member States.

EUROPEAN UNION GMO approval (rapeseed): EFSA issued a positive safety assessment regarding the use of a newly developed GM herbicide-tolerant rapeseed. The new varietys use as food and feed was deemed as safe as that of conventional rapeseed. Taking into account the agencys opinion, the European Commission and Member States are called to decide about the varietys formal approval.
