Import ban lifted
Description
Lifted an embargo on bovine meat imports from Italy, following the 2013 opening of its market to bovine meat from some other EU Member States (France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark and Sweden). The ban on bovine meat imports from the EU was introduced in 2001, due to the perceived risk of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) contamination.
