Description
Concerned about possible shortfalls in biodiesel supplies stemming from reduced domestic soybean availabilities, approved a cut in the mandatory biodiesel blending rate from 12 percent to 11 percent during the period NovemberDecember 2020. Worried about the impact of persistently high soyoil and biodiesel prices on the countrys inflation rate, authorized fresh cuts in the blending rate from 13 percent to 10 percent during the period MayAugust 2021.

BRAZIL biodiesel policy (blending rate): Following a number of earlier brief reductions in the countrys mandatory biodiesel blending rate, on 7 October, Brazils regulatory agency for petroleum, biofuel and gas (ANP) approved a cut in the blending rate from 12 percent to 11 percent from 1 November through December 2020, citing continued concerns about possible shortfalls in biodiesel supplies stemming from reduced domestic soybean availabilities.
