南苏丹正面临着全球最严重的粮食安全和营养危机。预计超过一半的人口将处于重度粮食不安全状况。目前已出现灾难级别（粮食安全阶段综合分类第五阶段）状况，相关人群的应对机制有限或毫无应对机制。多年的冲突、不稳定和大规模流离失所扰乱了该国的农业生产，而农业是其最重要的经济部门之一。洪水、干旱等气候冲击以及连年不断的粮食短缺，导致经济和农业状况进一步恶化。由于高达95%的人口依靠农业（种植业、畜牧业和渔业）获得食物和收入，因此需要紧急人道主义支持来避免灾难。
粮农组织正在提供牲畜疫苗接种和治疗、太阳能灌溉泵和收获后设备、培训、农业支持和渔业援助，以恢复人们的粮食安全、营养和抵御能力。然而，如果没有紧急资金来支持持续开展多部门应对措施，人们将面临更大的饥荒和贫困风险。要点
