The PQv list
The PQv List provides an independent and internationally recognized source of information on FMD vaccines. The PQv list provides information on the quality of the FMD vaccine and its key properties. Further details of the scheme can be found here or by contacting EuFMD.
The PQv list should be read in conjunction with the Public Summary Report (PSR) that has been produced following evaluation of an application for prequalification in line with the Technical Guidance for Application for Prequalification of Foot-and-Mouth Disease Vaccines and Content of the Prequalification Evidence file with the aim of assuring compliance with at least minimum international standards i.e. the standards defined in the general and specific chapters of the latest version of the Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals of the World Organisation for Animal Health.
The SCPQv is evaluating other applications submitted by manufacturers. The list will expand over time.

The PQv List is a list of FMD vaccines that have been independently evaluated and endorsed by the Standing Committee for Prequalification (SCPQv) to provide assurance they comply at least with minimum internationally accepted standards of the relevant chapters of the Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals of the World Organisation for Animal Health (the ‘WOAH Terrestrial Manual’).
PQv is a voluntary scheme and only includes those vaccines for which PQv applications have been submitted by FMD manufacturers for PQv listing and endorsed by the SCPQv.
The information on each listed FMD vaccine was accurate at the time of PQv Listing or most recent update.
The PQv list provides details of the quality of the FMD vaccine and its key properties for safe and effective use.
EuFMD and FAO provides no guarantees on the use of any listed vaccines to manage outbreaks of FMD. PQv is not intended to evaluate the suitability of a vaccine for use in a particular epidemiological situation. The choice of vaccine to use in a particular epidemiological situation relies on a wide range of factors including the properties of the vaccine, the relationship between the strains in the vaccine and circulating field strains and the policy context in which the vaccine is to be used.
